Shiv Trading Company, a wholesale distributor for fast moving consumer goods, established it's root in Brunei during the year of 2005. Comprising a warehouse space over 10,000 sq feet and an annual turnover of over B$7 million, our company is one of the leading distributor for fmcg products in Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Agency Business Operation

As to the marketing and distribution aspect we are a fairly medium-sized company with all practical and possible resources available to ensure good and proper market coverage with our sales team servicing all our clients regularly. We do regular sales promotions, live cooking demonstrations, product advertising and a host of other related activities together with our merchant partners and constant get first-hand feedback from consumers to keep abreast of market trends. We also ensure from time to time that we do not get into any difficult situation where there is a conflict of interest for all parties concerned. Unlike parallel trade, we place great importance on our agency lines and ensure that they are professionally managed. All aspects are given priority like communication to clients and consumers, advertising and promotions, warehousing and logistics and so forth. We strive to leave no facet not done properly.

We have our delivery vehicles carrying our agency line art-work / visuals. We also do newspaper advertising on a regular basis to keep the brand awareness amongst general public and trade community to open up new channels of distribution like airlines, ship chandelling, government canteens and so forth which are otherwise very difficult to reach.

Expansion & Growth

Our sales and marketing team comprises of total 4 people. We handle the marketing aspect and our salespersons do the field-work. We have divided sales areas amongst them and each and every client is serviced once every week. As mentioned above, our top-most priority is always to promote and push the agency product lines along together with some hot selling items.

Apart from traditional trade channel like small independent grocery stores scattered through-out the nation we place great importance to the modern trade channel as well. Practically all large-scale supermarkets, hypermarkets, mini-marts are covered. We cater to them in-store as well as their central warehouse purchase needs. We also cater to hotels, restaurants, co-operative societies and bakeries.

Competitive Analysis

Though the market is small, but there is sufficient competition to put pressure on our competitors to either service the clients properly or exit, and in terms of size there is space to create a loyal consumer base who will undoubtedly purchase our range of products.

Based on our market research and personal belief, Indonesian products are generally perceived by all level of users, importers, wholesalers, retailers and end-consumers, to be of high and fresh quality. Moreover, Indonesian items are very well accepted in Brunei due to similarity in language, culture, religion and most importantly taste profile.
